Celo Network, a mobile-first proof-of-stake layer 1 blockchain protocol, has announced a collaboration with Google Cloud. The news with one of the world's largest technology companies will help Celo to help startups under its network. According to Celo, sustainability-focused startups are the primary business entities to benefit from the new collaboration. These startups will receive all the resources and support needed to bring innovation to the Web3 space.
The announcement, made via a blog post, said Celo was helping new businesses to build and scale Web3 applications that focus on environmental sustainability. Celo Network said in the blog post, "Today, the Celo Foundation is pleased to announce a new partnership with Google Cloud to bolster the growth of mission-aligned projects in Celo’s blockchain ecosystem and to expand the early adoption of Google Cloud services."
The mobile-first proof-of-stake layer 1 blockchain protocol also noted that Google Cloud serves as their support base for their aim and objectives. According to them, partnering with Google Cloud would see them providing more resources for founders under their network. "As cLabs’ preferred cloud provider, Google Cloud’s secure and sustainable cloud infrastructure has underpinned the development of the Celo Platform since 2018. Building on the success of this collaboration, Google Cloud joins Celo Foundation’s robust founders’ programs by providing founders building on Celo with credits for Google Cloud and Firebase usage," Celo said.
Celo Network and Google Cloud Collaboration Great for Clean Blockchain Activities
Xochitl Cazador, the Celo Foundation’s Head of Ecosystem Growth, while speaking about the collaboration with Google, said it was great for better blockchain activities.
He mentioned that as the first Proof of Stake (PoS) protocol with a carbon-negative rating, they needed to further amplify their goals by partnering with innovative companies. He termed Google Cloud as the cleanest cloud currently in existence.
"As the first Proof-of-Stake (PoS) blockchain to be carbon-negative, Celo is known as Web3’s ‘Home of ReFi,’ or regenerative finance, with 1,000+ projects providing real-world benefits in over 150 countries. Google Keen on Helping Blockchain Establishments
Google's crypto adventure won't be ending at any moment as the Head of Strategy says the company is willing to enter into more partnerships with crypto entities. The major interest for Google Cloud is Web3, and they are eager to help drive the next wave of innovation in the sector. While speaking about their new collaboration with Celo Network, Richard Widmann, Head of Strategy, Web3, Google Cloud, said they are making collaborations with different entities to ensure the sustenance of Web3 technology. He also reiterated building a community of Web3 builders.
