Celo Network, a mobile-first proof-of-stake layer 1 blockchain protocol, has announced a collaboration with Google Cloud. The news with one of the world's largest technology companies will help Celo to help startups under its network. According to Celo, sustainability-focused startups are the primary business entities to benefit from the new collaboration. These startups will receive all the resources and support needed to bring innovation to the Web3 space.

The announcement, made via a blog post, said Celo was helping new businesses to build and scale Web3 applications that focus on environmental sustainability. Celo Network said in the blog post, "Today, the Celo Foundation is pleased to announce a new partnership with Google Cloud to bolster the growth of mission-aligned projects in Celo’s blockchain ecosystem and to expand the early adoption of Google Cloud services."

The mobile-first proof-of-stake layer 1 blockchain protocol also noted that Google Cloud serves as their support base for their aim and objectives. According to them, partnering with Google Cloud would see them providing more resources for founders under their network. "As cLabs’ preferred cloud provider, Google Cloud’s secure and sustainable cloud infrastructure has underpinned the development of the Celo Platform since 2018. Building on the success of this collaboration, Google Cloud joins Celo Foundation’s robust founders’ programs by providing founders building on Celo with credits for Google Cloud and Firebase usage," Celo said.

Celo Network and Google Cloud Collaboration Great for Clean Blockchain Activities

Xochitl Cazador, the Celo Foundation’s Head of Ecosystem Growth, while speaking about the collaboration with Google, said it was great for better blockchain activities.

He mentioned that as the first Proof of Stake (PoS) protocol with a carbon-negative rating, they needed to further amplify their goals by partnering with innovative companies. He termed Google Cloud as the cleanest cloud currently in existence.

"As the first Proof-of-Stake (PoS) blockchain to be carbon-negative, Celo is known as Web3’s ‘Home of ReFi,’ or regenerative finance, with 1,000+ projects providing real-world benefits in over 150 countries. Our partnership with Google Cloud will help developers and Web3 founders building on the Celo blockchain build and scale their applications on the industry’s cleanest cloud," Xochitl Cazador said. you can also check out our article on 5 Key Protocols That Will Play Crucial Roles In Defi 2023
