According to Jane Manchun Wong, a prominent reverse engineering expert, Elon Musk Twitter is getting close to introducing a new feature called "Coins." The new feature will make it possible to reward creators for the tweets and content they create. However, the new coin feature about to be launched does not feature Doge or any other cryptocurrency.

Since the Elon Musk Twitter Takeover, the Doge community has been hopeful that the billionaire will integrate cryptocurrency as a part of Twitter's payment method. Elon Musk, affiliated with Dogecoin since 2020, has not commented on this.

It reported that the new feature would involve completing the transaction through Stripe. Stripe is a payment technology that allows users from different countries and continents to make transactions.

Rumors about the tipping or coin feature began circulating in late 2022, and even Elon Musk commented on integrating the feature on his newly acquired social media platform.

After Elon Musk Twitter Takeover and news of coin integration on the platform, Dogecoin even started mooning and increased in price by more than 30%.

Leaked Images of the Feature

Apart from the rumors of integration of the coin feature, newly leaked images of the feature show what it would look like when Elon Musk and his team officially launch it.

Wong and Owji shared the graphics of the project’s development on Jan. 10. However, there's no indication that Elon Musk is employing any blockchain or cryptocurrency in the project. This might mean that the public has to wait until its official launch to get an idea of the coin used for the transactions.

Owji mentioned in a Twitter post that no leaks so far have indicated that Dogecoin or any other cryptocurrency will be involved in the coin feature.

"It seems to be an in-app currency to support the creators. I didn't find anything that relates it to *crypto* currency," Owji added.

The leaked images also show how Twitter plans to reward creators on the platform. Assuming a Twitter user likes a creator's content, they can easily reward them using the coin feature. The coin feature will likely be an in-app currency, meaning Dogecoin or any other cryptocurrency won't be featured.

Nima Owji made his post about the coin feature detailed as he showed that buying the in-app currency will allow one to support creators. Assuming one supports a creator, the remaining in-app currency will be shown on their balance.

Many have likened the new coin feature, which is yet to be released as similar to that of Reddit, which allows users to top and support content creators. Since Elon Musk Twitter Takeover, many experiments and features have been released, with many hyping the new changes.

More Features By Elon Musk

After acquiring the social media platform, Elon Musk Twitter has seen a lot of changes as he plans to integrate more features later.

Another outstanding feature that the billionaire has introduced on the platform is using Twitter to check up-to-date price information of stocks and some cryptocurrencies.

Twitter users can easily find price charts for Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) by simply typing their name or ticker symbol in the search button on the app. For many financial enthusiasts, this is another milestone for the social media platform.
