According to a press release provided to Cryptonews.com, non-fungible token (NFT) platform PlayNFT is launching a new marketplace to enable Twitch streamers and YouTube creators to roll out branded NFTs with in-game utility intended for their communities. This development comes amid the ongoing boom in the so-called "creator economy," which enables creators to monetize their work in new ways.

The development could give the new platform access to the growing pool of online creators, which includes Twitch's 9.2 million streamers and YouTube's 51 million content creators, according to a statement from PlayNFT. It is supported by more than USD 300,000 in grants from a number of crypto industry players, including XRP Ledger, Velas, Near, and Stacks.

The third quarter of this year will also see the addition of support for TikTok creators.

According to the announcement, the cross-chain platform promises to combine a variety of blockchains, including Ethereum (ETH), Polygon (MATIC), Solana (SOL), and others, making it possible to issue and distribute NFTs across numerous chains.

PlayNFT CEO  Xavier Moore explains, “NFTs are a game changer for attaching real value to content." PlayNFT "will empower creators to meaningfully connect their audiences and infuse their NFTs with usefulness and value in a collaborative, accessible way."

According to the release, more than 260 streamers have already registered to use PlayNFT. Each artist will receive a personal online store where their community can purchase branded NFTs.

According to the release, "they will also be able to attach utility to the NFTs on any connected blockchain through games like Min-Mins and Shield of Shalwend, while game developers can integrate PlayNFT's tools and attach in-game usefulness to NFTs on any connected blockchain."
