Actually, the Bored Ape NFT came to him as a gift, as reported by several sources. According to The Bored Ape Gazette, he was gifted the BAYC #1597.

At that time, the value of the NFTs was still very high before the NFT market went through bearish trends. Cheetah fur, a flat-brimmed cap, a Hawaiian shirt, bored eyes, an unshaven mouth, and a purple background are some features in the NFT owned by Mark Cuban.

If you are really thinking about celebrities that would be Bored Ape NFT owners, Post Malone is one of the names that won't immediately come to your mind. The singer is a cool personality who mostly stays under the radar of celebrity news.

However, during the NFT craze, the popular musician got himself two Bored Apes — #961 and #9039. The musician didn't even shy away from showcasing his possessions as one of the NFTs immediately featured in his music video titled “One Right Now” with The Weekend. 

Some of the major traits in the Bored Ape NFT he purchased are a brown cowboy hat, glistening blue teeth, and rainbow suspenders. The news that Post Malone purchased NFTs wasn't made known to the public by the singer. Instead, it was a third-party website named MoonPay that tweeted about the singer making purchases of the NFTs.

One of the greatest rappers of all time makes the list of Bored Ape NFT owners, and some details make his story seem unique. It was at the end of the year in 2021 (December) that Eminem decided to join celebrities that have access to this large NFT community.

However, the choice of Eminem's NFT was unique, as the NFT closely shared the rapper's looks. The Bored Ape NFT purchased by the rapper can be identified with Ape (#9055). The Ape had the same outlook as apes, but some of its traits were quite intriguing.

First, the Ape NFT Eminem bought wore the same kind of cap the rapper had worn. While looking closely, one can also see that the NFT wore the same chain as the rapper. He purchased the NFT for a whopping $452,000, although the value has reduced. 

 

4. Neymar Jnr

Neymar Jnr is a football (soccer) player that ranks as one of the greats in the sport. To add more to his legacy, the outstanding footballer decided to do it with the crypto industry after buying himself some Bored Ape NFTs.

Like many other celebrities, Neymar Jnr buying the Bored Ape NFT happened when the NFT craze was still heavy. The one he purchased was even costlier than the one Eminem purchased, a whopping $481,000 for one of the apes (#5269).

One thing to note about Neymar Jnr was that the Bored Ape NFT he purchased wasn't the only one he bought for himself. He also invested in the Hape Beasts, another promising NFT project he paid $20,000 for. Like many other celebrities, the NFTs Neymar Jnr purchased have reduced drastically in value due to the bear market.

So if you are looking for music celebrities that have the longest history with the NFT industry, you should definitely mention Steve Aoki in your list.

DJ Steve Aoki has invested so much into the NFT market that the amount of Bored Ape NFTs he owns is more than other celebrities mentioned in this list combined. Steve Aoki's NFT collection can boast of Bored Ape NFTs such as  #118, #1867, #3719, #4190, #5823, #8716, #9050, #9394, Mutant Ape #17438 and Mutant Ape #17439.

One of his Bored Ape NFTs that stands out is the #118, which features a striped tee and laser eyes. It is clear that Steve Aoki loves the NFT market, as he didn't stop investing after the Bored Apes. He has other investments with popular NFT projects like CryptoPunks. Additionally, he recently participated in the launch of a Solana-based NFT marketplace with comic book artist Todd McFarlane

One great thing to note about Paris Hilton's story is that she was already around the NFT market long before most male celebrities came around. It was clear that she wasn't just following the NFT wave that happened in 2021, as she had been investing in NFTs as early as 2020.

It was even within the same year she sold her Bored Ape NFT. Ever since then, she has been consistently advocating by speaking up about the crypto and NFT industry. From every indication, her favorite NFT was her BAYC #1294, which she bought for 119 ETH. When converted to the US dollar then, it was around $275,000. This NFT had unique traits such as red fur, black shades, and a chained hat. 

 

7. Justin Bieber

Justin Bieber went all out for the NFT industry, joining the list of the most expensive Bored Ape NFT owners. The NFT he purchased came in January 2022, when the NFT market was still hot for a whopping 500 ETH or about USD 1.3 million.

The popular singer bought his BAYC #3001 despite many NFT enthusiasts saying he overpaid for the NFT. Considering some of the things that make up the price of an NFT, the enthusiasts that pointed this out were right.

Some of the features or unique traits that were seen in the NFT were quite common and not rare. Nevertheless, the Canadian musician could care less, as what matters is entering the list of Bored Ape NFT owners.
